New Features in Kali Linux
- Kali Linux 2.0 which is codenamed ” Kali Sana ” offers a redesigned user interface .
- Kali Linux 2.0 is now based on Debian Jessie and has a new 4.0 kernel . This brings much wider and improved support for hardware and wireless driver coverage and also supports a variety of Desktop environments (gnome , Kde , xfce , mate , e17 , i3wm , lxde) . Kali Linux 2.0 has moved to GNOME 3 . The minimum Ram Requirement for full GNOME 3 has increased to 768 MB . The lightweight flavour comes with Xfce desktop environment .

You can upgrade from Kali Linux 1.x to 2.0 !! Just edit the Source.list entries and and rundist-upgrade .
